  • Lies, Damned Lies and Things You are Told During Teacher Training | Scenes From The Battleground It's not my field, so I won't comment on the synthetic phonics points; and I'm sympathetic to the point about the poor quality of research, but I wonder about the scepticism about old models. The reason for their survival is their effectiveness as tools, and I hope subject to critical analysis. The writer seems to have a take-it-or-leave-it black-and-white view of teacher education.
